Review on 🚗 Dorman 741-645 Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly - Front Passenger Side - for Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models by Jhon Clark

I am buying this to replace the same Dorman part I installed a few years ago that just had an engine failure. The Dorman motor is physically smaller than the OEM motor, but drives a steel gear rather than an OEM plastic (not that gear is a common failure mode). Because the motor is a different design and gearbox, you can't replace a failed motor with an OEM motor, and I don't think Dorman sells their motor separately. The regulator is a good price but should last more than a few years. Since my truck has become a backup vehicle, I hope it will last forever this time. UPDATE: I received my shipment and Dorman replaced their motor with an ESC I installed a few years ago (same part number). The engine is now larger, about the same size as the OEM. Rather than being a generic adapter plate motor for this application, this motor appears to be designed for a specific application. They may have made an improvement.
