The paint is cheap and not thick enough to opaque the tiles. The tile is actually a real ceramic tile, which is fine, but it's quite small and because it's shiny, the color doesn't hold up very well. Some children find it really difficult to draw such a small detail. I wouldn't buy this again, the dollar store sells 2 magnetic tiles for $1.
