This item was purchased to cover the outdoor unit of our split system. The coating appears to be fairly robust compared to others we've seen. This is for our home in the NH mountains. Based on the perceived quality we assume it is strong and durable and will see through the winters to come. We will see. One issue we had is that there is a cut out for the hoses. Unfortunately, the cutout is on the side and our hoses on the back, so the lid doesn't fully cover the entire device. It could be improved with a larger cutout area that can be attached with velcro to accommodate hoses in different places.
