I am an elderly person and I usually wear a size 10. I would say Large on this piece is a size 10-12. dressed. It's long, but I tuck the bottom in just a little until it's a few inches higher than my bathing suit. It stays in place even after an hour of intense water aerobics. If you were to use it as sunscreen it would fully cover a bathing suit and I'm 5ft 7in tall. The front zip makes it easy to take off after class. Dries fast. Sleeve panels on the forearms facilitate arm movement. That's exactly what I wanted.
