It took two to get it right. The company sent a replacement with no problem. It is very important that you remove every microscopic speck of dust (I used a flashlight to see if hidden particles appeared) and then everything will work as promised. I bought mine for the iPad Pro because I will be using the pencil a lot otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten it. But it's smooth and smooth, no bubbles.
