I was dismayed to discover my mother-in-law's new apartment had no carbon monoxide detectors. This is just as important as a smoke detector. The problem is I don't know how to use it because it is connected to our fire alarm. Fortunately, this is evidence of idiocy. As soon as you plug it in, a welcome message will appear and it will start working immediately. All I had to do was hang it on the wall. It even has hangers built into the back. I love that it comes with 2 so I can put one in her living room and one in her bedroom for extra security.
