Absolutely fantastic French press! I went through a few glasses and decided to give this babe a try. We love it. However, it does NOT hold 51 ounces of coffee. I have attached photos to show. The maximum fill line is 45 ounces and is just below the bottom of the spout, so you can't squeeze out excess water even if you want to. This press holds just over 8 cups of a regular sized coffee pot. It fills my husband's 1 liter Stanley thermos as well as a regular sized coffee mug. It also keeps the coffee hot for at least 2 hours. :)
