Review on GCC 4240N GCC 4241N Laptop Combo Drive by William Byrd

Replaces a failed combo drive in an old Dell laptop. The laptop's drive is encased in a plastic frame that fits inside the laptop and is held in place by a latch. The replacement required a simple sequence of steps: * removing the drive tray from the laptop * removing the plastic tray holding the old drive (8 small screws) * removing the old drive from the laptop drive tray * removing the plastic front from both the old drive and the new one Drive and put the old plastic front panel on a new panel. (This plastic bezel has the Dell logo and an LED indicator. It fits into the frame so the drive opens and closes properly. The new drive was made from a standard plastic that was too wide.)* Put the new drive into the plastic frame, assemble with small screws and insert into the laptop. Worked as expected with no problems. Although I had no trouble understanding it, only 4 stars because there were no instructions or pointers for non-technical casters.
