TLDR: A premium keyboard packed with features in a package that's as solid as it looks. Pros: - Superb build quality - Smooth optical switches - Polling rate up to 8k (to further reap the benefits of optical switches) - Great tone stabilizers right out of the box! - Very good wrist rest included - Integration with macros (G key). StreamDeck - Fully remappable (except for the icue button in the top left corner) - Two PBT keycaps - Standard bottom row (you can use almost any keyset you want) - Vivid RGB lighting with lots of preset effects and settings (can up to 20 effects can be overlaid) - Compatible with iCUE nexus - You can save lighting effects, macros and profiles directly on the keyboard. Disadvantages: - The geometric pattern of the supplied wrist rest gets dirty quite easily Thoughts: Everything about this keyboard speaks of PREMIUM and QUALITY! Typing with the new mechanical OPX switches is fantastic. They're smoother than cherry (like almost everything these days) and sound great on the board. The stabilizers feel absolutely fantastic! No rattles. Finally! The worst thing about Corsair keyboards in the past (in my opinion) has been the stabilizers. There was nothing one could do about those stupid wires to make them bearable. Mechanical OPX switches are "speed" switches, meaning they have a higher actuation point than switches you might be used to. Normal reds or linears fire at around 2mm while they fire at 1mm. If you're not used to derailleurs you can make a lot of typos or jump off a cliff for a while, but once you get used to them you can hardly tell they act as fast as they are. The lighting is very bright and beautiful. I recently tried Razer's new Hunter counterpart and nothing about it compares to this keyboard. If you try to choose between them, there is absolutely no competition. The wheel at the top left can perform various actions such as B. adjusting the lighting or scrolling through music or videos. This is a nice little addition. The volume control is also very taut feeling. I've tried many keyboards with dedicated volume controls that feel very loose, but this one is very good. Verdict: This is the best gaming keyboard you can get right now. It's packed with features in a package that feels as solid as it looks. Since it's quite expensive, you definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend buying optical switches as Cherry's speed switch is another choice anyway. The OPX switch feels great and makes better use of the 8k polling rate available on the board (not that mega-high polling rates REALLY make much of a difference for keyboards). However, I would recommend an OPX switch over a Cherry speed switch as it is a much smoother circuit. If you've ever used anything other than cherries, you know anything is better than cherries, and this is no exception. Cherry switches are very squeaky when operated. The OPX switches sometimes make a bouncy noise, usually when pressed quickly, but nothing you feel so it's not enough to recommend against. The OPX switches also feel lighter, probably because they're a lot smoother, which just feels better in games. * Update March 16, 2021: Corsair has released a new version of the iCue that doesn't look bad at all. It's more responsive to changes and adds an 8k polling rate to the K100.
