Review on 🐱 TORJOY Kitten Onesies – Cat Recovery Suit for Abdominal Wounds or Skin Diseases – Post-Surgery Wear to Prevent Licking Wounds – Breathable E-Collar Alternative for Cats by Ryan Pal

My kitty hated it but it worked.

In December our 8 month old kitten (6 lbs) was spayed. We ordered this in advance and tried it on her and it fit perfectly. Luckily she was too tired to fiddle with her stitches the first night because they are a bit difficult to put on and I would be nervous as to what it might be. It was inconvenient to lift the hind legs to put them in the holes. The next day she tried to take care of the stitches so we got them. We did NOT tighten the laces and I do NOT recommend you do so. In any case, it could not go over the shoulders. We needed one of us to stop her from escaping while the other puts on a shirt because she's cocky, but if your cat is more accommodating you might just need one person. It worked a little after two weeks of wear and a few washes. Doesn't affect function, but it's definitely a short-term thing. She was able to use the litter box without getting anything on it and it also prevented her from running/jumping due to sensory wearer disorder if you never wore anything but a collar. Be careful when you take it off: it went off like a shot when we did! (Usually straight to the food bowl.) However, she was reluctant to eat with her and often walked backwards in circles due to her disorientation. But the combination of this and a very large kennel with a litter box and soft bedding (for sleeping to ensure the other cats don't encourage mischief or arguments) protected her and ensured a full recovery. the fabric is elastic, but rolls easily; Nothing for a cat should have a neck at a point; difficult to apply by just one person if your cat resists; Velcro is a lot better than I'm imagining buttons, but it definitely took some effort to keep her long fur from snagging on the Velcro and attracting lint.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Everything OK
