I bought this filter for my 5 gallon tank. I need something with a slower flow rate and something that takes up less space than the submersible filter that comes with it. The setting is good but still on the lowest setting the current seems to be too much for my betta. I've placed a suction device at the bottom to slow the flow and so far it has helped. I love the extra skimmer and it helps catch loose food and surface oils, but the filter inside needs frequent cleaning. Once the air was over and the flow was steady, it was a really quiet filter. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive filter that doesn't take up too much space and keeps tanks clean. I've had this filter for a couple of weeks and wanted to give it some time before giving my final review.
