I'm a handy person and do a lot of work with cars, house projects, carpentry etc. I imagine the average handyman/person can struggle a little more than me with such things. Before I started I watched a few YouTube videos of this type of projects and will share my experiences. The only thing that matters in sellers is the instructions, which should be clear. is to mount the lower connection first (if the application is for a liftgate on the vehicle). I had no problem removing the old racks and for some reason I just started the install at the top connector and then tried clicking at the bottom. (not many hp dice). It's not relevant. If you put the top in at all, you'll have to work hard to try and hand squeeze the post until it closes about 1/2 inch for it to fit. Very strange. Actually, I thought that the shuffling was somehow blocked because it's just not possible to compress it manually. After doing some digging and finally seeing the correct video (from the seller) that said to make a ground connection first, it was very easy. What could have literally taken five minutes with a little more clarity in the instructions took 20-30 minutes to escalate. I hope this helps you avoid it. The blocks worked great when installed in our 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan.
