Good product. Terrible warranty support from ASUS

We use this Chromebook for our kids at school. We bought this one because it is made for this purpose. I took it off the charger this morning and found it wasn't charging at all. I tried different outlets and couldn't charge it no matter where I plugged it in. Thus, it is obvious that the issue is with the Chromebook or the charger. I called ASUS warranty support. The support person had me try different things to get it working and nothing worked. No matter what we did, the Chromebook would not charge or turn on. So she suggested that I should buy a new charger and see if that fixes the problem. She had no advice on where to find it or how to make sure I have the right one, but I just bought the charger and gave it a try. Really useless. So I asked what else we can do. She suggested that I send it. Excellent. Now we ship the laptop. It takes 7-10 business days i.e. 2-3 weeks considering the upcoming holidays plus shipping time. So now we will not use this laptop which we really need for a month. She offered me $30 expedited return shipping but that didn't help much. She also suggested that I should back up all my data before sending it to them. Of course I can't turn the thing on. So I asked her how I can do that. She suggested I take it to a local mechanic to back up the data and have that person turn it on and extract the data. No suggestions on how to do this, but obviously there is someone besides me who can do it. I think. Overall it didn't help and I'm very disappointed in their warranty support. With other companies I've dealt with in the past, returns and warranty repairs have been quick and easy. ASUS doesn't seem to want my business in the future.
