The inflation nozzle has no lips or ridges to catch your lips when inflating, you just make your mouth awkward to do so. In order to safely hold the air, you must press the button INSIDE the valve, an action that will result in the air being released immediately as soon as you take your mouth off it. From there you have to make an effort to reinflate the air lost in the process. It's worse than the simple squeeze pump that every cheap pool toy has - at least they give you a way to shut off the airflow before you plug it in. You can try pressing the button with your tongue, but it's awkward, difficult, and messy because your lips don't have anything to grab while you stick your tongue out. It's just an oddly complicated valve in an otherwise great product. I gotta do some serious tongue exercises to keep this damn thing inflated.
