I ordered two of these vests for my small dogs who get cold easily. Based on numerous other reviews saying they are very small, I ordered the medium for my small dog (8lbs). It arrived and was HUGE. I returned it and ordered Small for my 8lbs and XS for my 6lbs. The XS was small and didn't fit my 6 pounds. This will likely work well for toy dogs around 3 pounds. i give it back The little one was too small for my 8 pounds! I was so disappointed. The length was great but it was tight around his ribs. I tried Small on my 6 lb machine and it worked. Unfortunately I really need this for my 8 kilo guitar! I give it four stars although I've now had to return 2 of the 3 I bought because it's a great design, well made and looks very nice. I like the double D-rings on the back so you can attach the leash directly to the vest without a harness. This is exactly what I wanted! Now I'm wondering if the very large medium was just an accident or mislabeled because it was significantly larger than the small one. I can order a second medium just to see if it works.
