I liked reusable bags when they weren't even cool or trendy. I'm not joking. Let me explain: in 1996 one of the casinos closed and was preparing for an explosion. My mum decided to wash them after they got dirty shopping a few years later - yes they did die. Our bags are "SANDS" because we bought them in Sands (Las Vegas). Some people have even commented that "this is a unique idea". In earnest. They were big and strong enough to hold a case of soda (24 cans). After getting the car, we packed our bags (don't ask me where) and relied on bags from the store. These have been added. In 2008 we started shopping at Fresh & Easy. West Coast - you all know it, right? Fresh & Easy is the first company to offer HEAVY DUTY reusable plastic bags for 99 cents. They then switched to canvas bags, which were still only 99 cents. They got these tall pockets, again 99 cents. And finally, they had something WIDE (about 1.5 times larger) for - yes, 99 cents circa 2012/2013 - their 5th anniversary. I still use those dark green "anniversary" bags - unless I'm walking the curb. Some of the bags are dented and are clearly showing better days. But they persevere! These cute bags come with 2 of each whimsical Christmas design. These are "standard" size bags as sold in grocery stores. persistent? They're a bit stiffer than my Fresh & Easy so if I'm still using them 8-9 years later I think they'll be fine. Price? They cost about $2.50 per pack, excluding sales tax. I've seen some holiday designs go from $2.49 to $2.99 to be comparable. The straps are sturdy and well made. They can also be used as a cute BIG SIZE gift bag. Definitely happy with these bags. Wouldn't hesitate to get another set or recommend them. Easy care - wipe and go. Washing machine is not required.
