When I bought this the listing said 'Live TV Recording' and 'DTV supports recording of HD TV programs to a USB flash drive or hard drive ' which prompted me to try this first. But he absolutely cannot do that because, as the seller wrote to me by email, "we have blocked the recording function". They have since removed these statements from the ads. There was also no power cord in the box and I should expect to receive it in "5-15 days". When using the built-in battery and car adapter, I found that many functions did not work properly. The Show/Hide Channel function does not remember any settings. It can read the sub-contents of USB and SD files, but does not play all video elements or text. In most cases, when trying to play a video, it says the file is not supported. It shows pictures but only plays them in slideshow mode, which I couldn't figure out how to change. Oddly enough, it doesn't let you adjust the hue of the image in custom mode. The automatic time is disabled for 1 hour and if you set it manually it will jump to the year 2116. There is a retractable stand on the back, but the unit falls off if you move the TV as the stand just snaps back into place. . The remote control IR is very specific and you must point the remote control at that exact location or it will not connect. The instructions don't say how to add radio stations other than the one it scans, so I had to figure it out myself. The Info/Guide function works randomly and if the signal drops for a second when it comes back, the picture and sound will be out of sync and you will have to turn off the device to sync again. It has good picture quality. Depending on how strong the signal is, the battery lasted almost 8 hours. Unfortunately, it has too many bugs to keep, especially since it can't record as originally claimed. Maybe I have a mistake, but it's just a bad product. I am updating this review regarding customer service. They contacted me after reading my review and were very sincere and sorry that I had received this obviously defective device. I commend them because although the product was defective they did their best to fix the problem.
