Advantages Battery life is very good. Cons I don't think it's built well for saltwater. I fish from a clean boat and collect all my gear as soon as I get back. I bought this block because it seemed to have a good seal. Not waterproof obviously, but splashproof yes, and I use the original plastic cover. I bought it on February 20th, 2019 and I use it about once a month. Every time I open it to change the batteries it's full of rust marks. If you're fishing from a bridge, bank or freshwater and are looking for something that's disposable after a few uses, this could be for you. I do not recommend this product for salt water.
