I bought these to wear to work in the summer. My job requires me to stand up and walk a mile back and forth for over 8 hours. I also lift and carry objects (5 to 50 pounds) around, up and down stairs. I was really hoping that they would feel comfortable right away. You are not. I was missing skin on my heels and toes due to the stiffness of the material. They are beautiful and durable compared to other TOMS I've had, but at the expense of comfort. I wasn't expecting too much support so it's not surprising. Anyway, I usually use insoles. I've reluctantly worn socks with them twice already and now they seem softer. I usually wear size 6 shoes and these fit true to size.
