Good head unit, Pioneer still leads the way

My last Pioneer worked for over 10 years with no problems until I got the latest iPhone 12 mini and found it wasn't as compatible. I have decided to stay with this brand. It's a good unit, I love that you can get the same chassis with different options. I don't need wireless carplay so I bought this device. The touch screen works well; It's responsive, works in the cold and looks good, but would have liked more background customization options as my old pioneer was better in that department. The user interface is relatively intuitive for a car radio. The rear camera is not of the best quality, but works quickly. Complaints: There's no skip track button on the front, you have to use the touchscreen. This is annoying, especially when you want to change settings and switch songs. It also means you have to look at the screen to change songs, as it's not always in the same spot and there's no tactile feedback from the physical button. The second complaint is the difficulty in accessing the subwoofer settings screen. You need to click on settings, then click on the speaker settings menu, then scroll down to the speaker level settings and then adjust the subwoofer. I usually only adjust when switching between sources, so I wish the unit would remember these settings for each input or have an easier way to adjust subwoofer output levels. I also wish there was a way to completely turn off the screen like my old pioneer, but this one only dims. This should be fine most of the time, except for very dark rides or very bad weather. Overall I'm very happy with Pioneer's 2-DIN range and this seems to continue the tradition of reliable and functional head units at good prices.
