Very strong, 6 screws are driven deep into the base to hold the tie cords securely. I have 2 large dogs (GSD and GP) that will need to be guarded until my fence is built. I couldn't use the screw type because my floor is very hard. I used a long drill and pre-drilled holes in the floor and then used a socket wrench to insert the screws. Each pawl is connected to the same swivel and is still secure after 4 months of use. A lifetime replacement is an added plus. It still looks like new, no scratches or rust.
