You get what you pay for. This is a cheap solution. Having used glass brew bottles in the past, I wanted something with a wider mouth for easy cleaning at an affordable price, as well as being lighter in weight and slightly larger in volume. The bucket I received was not airtight. However, I put a food grade rubber band around the rim of the bucket to solve this problem. This bucket is made of HDPE, so it's very safe for brewing, easy to clean, and fairly stain-resistant. That everything is great! I just wish I didn't have to deal with a problem that shouldn't be present in any fermentation vest. However, my first batch of dandelion wine did the job perfectly. However, I recommend investigating other similar solutions.
