Some of the older reviews complain about the short USB power cord, but in the newer versions the cords are longer and can stretch from a standard bedside table to the floor. This block is much better than the previous one we had. The images are much more focused and can be resized if needed. I hope the inside lasts a long time. The gears sound a bit tight when the device rotates. It can loosen up over time. It's a bit noisy but our little one sleeps with a white noise machine so it's not a problem. You will need a USB cube or a wall outlet with a built in USB port to power or use batteries. We don't use batteries so I can't comment on battery life.
