I have a 2.5 and 4.5 year old, and this backpack takes care of all my needs. I had a messenger-style diaper bag when my kids were babies, and I wish I had known back then how much more convenient a backpack is, in general, and this backpack in particular would have been fantastic with babies for three reasons: 1. the diaper changing pad; 2. the insulated bottle-sized drink holders in the second biggest pocket, and 3.-- THE BEST FEATURE!- the wipes holder/flap! This thing is seriously amazing. I never have to dig for wipes, and I can't think of a situation with wipes where I don't want it *right away* - this backpack provides wipe access I've never had. Seriously, I always lose my wipes around the house and now I always know where I can find some! PRO TIP: put a *half-used* wipes pack in the flap. This way the lid of the wipes doesn't get stuck and they're easier and quicker to access. My daughter is in the middle of a potty regression right now and we've had lots of accidents lately- not only has this pack helped me keep my cool by being able to access wipes quickly- it also has a few pockets which are coated with a waterproof material, which is easy to clean, so I've been able to deposit messy undies into them with no worries.The only con I have for this pack is a lack of a dedicated water bottle holder. My kids are older and their water bottles are too fat for the insulated bottle pockets. I snapped a carabiner onto one of the pieces of metal that holds the stroller clips and I've attached my water bottle that way. It works but it's not perfect. Otherwise this bag meets all my needs. Lots of space, lots of useful pockets.
