Comfortable chair with smelly plastic!

So I've been using this chair for about a month. I work from home on a 4 day/3 day schedule so on the days I work I have to sit in this chair AT LEAST 10 hours a day! Unfortunately he sits a lot. Even on weekends I usually spend time at my desk, so this thing gets LOTS of use. I am happy with the comfort level of this chair. I used to have chair induced back pain from a cheap IKEA office chair that I used as a temporary measure. This chair doesn't hurt my back. Sure, my limbs and Co. get stiff and tired, but that's a given with the daily sitting time. As a 5'5" female, 125 lbs, this chair REALLY feels a little big to me. He's a tall guy at 6ft 2" and fills out a chair much better than me. However, my feet stand up with no problem the floor. However, I have slightly longer legs, so if you're more like a person with about the same torso, your mileage may vary. As far as assembly goes, it was easy enough. The chair was well packaged and the instructions were adequate. I was also able to complete it on my own. My biggest issue with this chair is that it still smells like plastic/chemicals. I've read about this in other reviews but decided to risk it with this one. My understanding is that the odor is related to the flame retardant chemicals that are required in California (where the company is said to be located) Unfortunately, although the odor has decreased significantly in a month, it is still there, and I can't sit in a chair without laying down a towel to keep my pants from smelling of chemicals. :/Nevertheless, I'm quite satisfied; In this chair it is comfortable even for 10-12 hours, the back does not hurt and it was quite affordable. When it eventually wears out and dies. I doubt I will repeat my purchase. By the time this chair is dead I've saved enough money for an Aeron chair and it's meant to last a lifetime :)

Pros
  • Everything seems poorly thought out so far
