I've bought the MH40 before and my review at $159 says the sound quality is excellent when connected to a Fiio DAP and preamp is. On the other hand, after listening to MHW40, I was disappointed to say the least. I knew that using any Bluetooth headset would always lose out over a wired phone, even with the latest technology closing the gap. The overall sound quality is okay, and then I hooked it up to my DAP and amp, but it still doesn't sound as good as the MH40. It seems that after the headphones are lighter and the speaker is smaller, the sound is still bright, but the soundstage is narrower and the bass is noticeably lower. These are good headphones but when you compare them to other headphones in this price range I expected more, especially since the MH40 was the starting point of their base model. I will return them or maybe swap them for MW65 or try Sennheiser or AKG.
