I noticed that the dial got stuck at 70 degrees permanently. Since I didn't want to mess with the return and it was only $13, I decided to see if I could fix it myself. It took me a little effort to figure out how to break it and then it turned out that the spring was missing and the little plastic insert was also in the wrong position. I rearranged both and now everything seems to be working.
