So if you have an old Prius, check the license plate light; Due to poor design, standard bulbs tend to melt part of the bulb holder and also burn out the bulb. I ordered 168 for the license plate and front position lights for the Prius and front position lights for the Lexus (all use the same bulbs). I have previously replaced the Prius front position lights with Sylvania LEDs. I moved them to the license plate lights and installed these new Philips LEDs in the front position lights. However, what is the difference. I had regular Sylvania LED bulbs. Philips is much brighter than traditional Sylvania LEDs and much brighter than traditional incandescent bulbs. In addition, they will not damage the Prius license plate light bulb socket. These bulbs also played a role when I installed them in the Lexus. I'm glad I made the changes to both cars. Sylvania has two different 168 LED bulbs, Normal and Super Brights. Haven't tried the super bright Sylvania LEDs so not sure if they are brighter than these Philips but they are quite bright and I like the whiter light. Also, these Philips were cheaper than Sylvania.
