From the experience of someone with severe scoliosis this futon is quite comfortable and I love how you feel a firm support underneath without buckling your hips violate. That being said, I definitely recommend having something else underneath when it comes to hardwood floors. When I had this on a hardwood floor, I had to have lots of blankets that offered support in different places because my spine hurt when I didn't. When I used it on carpets it was way better and even better when I added styrofoam and fluff underneath. After that it was very comfortable except you need a special pillow otherwise your neck hurts. The product itself is very pleasant and I'm glad I chose it over others.
