I needed a good quality microphone on the boom so I could move it in and out of frame during a video conference and I wanted my voice to sound good or even great if possible . I also record voice files and use the mic for other purposes including two-way communication. This mic did everything I needed and I was right. The hardware (rod, bracket, non-mic parts) is a bit crappy, doesn't screw all the way in for turning due to the use of cheap metals, but is a trifle and acceptable for the home. It is NOT suitable for commercial use. The quality of the microphone is really very good for the voice. I tested the output with Audacity and looked closely at the spectrum and this is the best mic I've used for this purpose. I had an issue that I would describe as "low output" and I thought maybe the manufacturer updated the driver to fix it. I found a software product called "Equalizer APO" on Sourceforge that completely fixes this problem and I think it's a Windows problem and not a Maono problem. But after amplifying the sound (it took +20dB) I would call the resulting sound "amazing" not "very, very good". I am completely satisfied with this microphone and would highly recommend it to all my friends. such use.
