This isn't universal tape for attaching items to metal surfaces that get hot, but it's probably thin chimney tape
I didn't buy this to seal my chimney but to seal something on the front of a metal photographic lamp reflector. It is not suitable for this, because when the lamp heats up, this band becomes soft and no longer holds securely. This is not a universal tape for attaching items to hot metal surfaces.
