Does the job well but with a few inconveniences

This does a great job of keeping my bedroom, which is just over 200 square feet, cool. ft. In my opinion, the noise is not too loud. My main concerns relate to the functionality between the remote, the app, and the buttons on the face. The application always knows the settings of your device, and your changes on the device itself are reflected in the application. This does not apply to the remote control, which must be turned on and off in order for changes made elsewhere to be reflected. It's a minor issue and certainly not what makes the AC unusable, but worth mentioning nonetheless. The most unusual behavior I've noticed is that turning on the device with the app always turns on the display. The app doesn't have the option to turn off the display, nor the device itself, leaving the remote control as the only option. I usually turn off the display to go to sleep as it's a fairly bright set of blue LEDs. When I turned the device on via the app and then used the remote to turn off the display, it actually turned the device off completely. This is really strange behavior and I'm not sure if there's a way around it. The device has the latest firmware, but the problem persists. Scheduling the unit's on/off cycles works flawlessly and I was happy with just using the automatic settings for fan speed and cooling setting for the air conditioner. Pairing a Wi-Fi connection wasn't too much of a hassle, but it's not as easy as you might think. The pairing instructions suggest pressing the display button 6 times within 6 seconds to prepare the device for pairing. Simply pressing 6 times and getting 6 beeps is not enough. You really need to pause between each press for it to work properly. Otherwise I'd say it does its job perfectly and doesn't cause me any other problems, but that's based on short-term ownership. I hope there will be a firmware/app update in the future to control the display settings.
