Review on πŸ”‹ Maxam Battery-Powered Portable Fan for PC by Anthony Hicks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quiet personal fan with 5 " blades for cool, mostly gentle cooling. Great for balmy summer nights!

Comfortable, quiet but fragile plastic fan provides cool breeze for almost one user. slow or fast speeds of four D cells, you could run it in slow mode with just two D cells.Best would be to add a center negative polarity power supply that outputs 4.8-6 volts and has 2-5 amps available current (although the consumption is less in actual use). The brittleness is due to the "finger guard" ribs molded into the front and rear panels that compress the motor and fan blade assembly. If you apply strong or accidental sudden pressure to the fins, they can break easily, and then you can hit the plastic fan blades with your fingers or your nose, which deals with such a blizzard turn so that they appear invisible. It hurts but it doesn't cut. The fan continues to work evenly when most of the sl's blades are running. However, there are three important ribs on the back that hold the wiring and keep the motor anchored. If you can handle that then it's time to buy 5000 pounds of epoxy for plastic or order another Max. This newer version has much better speed control than the equivalent model a few years ago; but this current model has opposite poles on the AUX DC INPUT socket, because the manufacturer in China has now put the minus in the middle position. Bought several, all work great.
