Review on 🧡 Aurifil A1050-2600 Dove Mako Cotton Thread: Superior Quality Solid 50WT, Long-lasting 1422Yds Spool by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Will NEVER go back to polyester thread!

I've been using polyester thread since I started quilting and sewing. It was cheap and available at my local craft stores. Damn, I didn't understand what I'm missing. I have a Juki 2000 and a patchwork singer. So far I've only tried aurifil 50 wt in my Juki and NOW I UNDERSTAND what people meant when they said "my car loves this thread". I have understood! My Juki doesn't work as hard and is much quieter. The seams are beautiful! The thread seems strong but is twice as thin as polyester so I think a 1/4 inch stitch would be more accurate. There will be a lot more line on the spool so I don't have to change the spool as often! Will I use polyester again? No way! I give everything I know that after just a few minutes of sewing with Auriphile I will be a devotee! Now the only problem was that my thread came out of 2 sticking out pieces so I had to wrap and thread a piece under the center cut to get the end of the thread. For that damage alone I think the price should be reduced as I don't know when this thread will show up again to confuse everything I sew.

Pros
  • Country of origin: Italy
Cons
  • Out of fashion
