Installed in 2003 Trailblazer with I6 - Fit 2003-2009 Fan clutch, pump and thermostat were changed at the same time. I recommend this for our engines. The fan clutch was stuck, causing the water pump to wear out. The thermostats in these engines are known to be junk. A stuck thermostat or a failed water pump can cause the engine to burn out. Mine is stuck open. If anything, a stuck fan cam caused a water pump shaft warning. The lack of a fan and cover made access to the generator easier, allowing you to access the thermostat. It took about 2-3 hours or less to replace the fan clutch, water pump and thermostat. If any of these items fail, replace them all at the same time. Look online for videos on how to get the job done. I cut the fan shroud to bypass the radiator intake and that made the job a lot easier. You can do this and save big $$$$$$.
