I bought a 1 inch wand. I have long hair to the elbows. Roughness is medium, slightly wavy/straight. I usually use it on the highest setting and only hold my hair on a stick for about 5 seconds. It took me one use before figuring out what temperature setting and how long leaving hair on a stick worked. I don't use a glove, but I'm used to curling my hair and using heat tools, and I don't wrap the ends all the way around. I usually have a week between washing my hair and by wash day I still have curls. Once curled they are a little tighter than I normally would like but once they loosen they are perfect and last a long time, of course they loosen up over time so they are more beach waves on wash day but I rarely revise. I love the price and the product!
