If you are interested in studio photography, this item is a godsend. I make a lot of time-lapse videos and my battery only partially makes it, although I have to replace/recharge it before recording. That means taking the camera out of the mount and changing the position and focus of the frame. It was a nightmare. But the camera is always fully utilized and I like to leave these problems behind me. I am using this with a Nikon D7100 and I feel like it has solved so many problems for me. 100% worth buying. The only downside I can think of is that the little battery door can't close because of the cable, but honestly. no matter.
