Works great! I use them at my wedding so I hung them in my bedroom to stretch out. They create a soft ambient light, not enough to see very well. I also have white Christmas lights in my room and when I turned them on I noticed how bright they are. These are small LED bulbs with small tips, not as long as traditional Christmas lights. The dimmer works well, but the difference in brightness is not very big. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't as noticeable as I thought it would be. I have 10 brightness levels. The lights flicker when you toggle to a different brightness, which makes me happy pre-wedding if I decide to make them brighter or dimmer at certain times of the night. It's not a dial when you think of a home dimmer. You must press the exact center of the remote control buttons for them to work. I used my nail because sometimes it took a few tries. I like that there are multiple settings to choose from. I wish it had a constant flicker at 1 because it's so pretty. It alternates between different blinks on 1 and 2. Button 7 - recording mode. Make sure you don't lose the remote as you can't turn it on from the battery on the headlights themselves.
