I was looking for something that I could use for nursing school in addition to the clinic. I thought because of all the bags especially for nursing school it would be ONE. I bought high quality material and I love the whole pocket organization. HOWEVER** if you are buying this for an intended purchase such as a nursing school, NOT. ** If you put all your stuff in (which is a lot) and then slide your laptop into the sleeve compartment while carrying your book bag. , there is no padding on the back running along the back so your laptop digs into your back. I have to wear this in the narrowest position of my arms so that the backpack sits directly on my back. It's very inconvenient and I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're walking around campus to get to class, lab, etc. I think if you are only using this bag for clinical purposes when you are not going to be carrying a laptop/iPad it would be great to drop everything you need so you don't have to carry other bags or wallets. I would not recommend this bag to anyone who needs it for a "backpack" for books and a laptop. I weighed the books and laptop for a total of 20 pounds. Once it was all in my bag it was about 23 pounds. It says it has a 25lb carrying capacity but I also feel that the straps aren't great, it seems like it won't hold up if I carry this bag further to be used by a backpack . I'm sad because I bought this for the versatility and organizational pockets. But now I will look for a new backpack that is more comfortable for the back. I'm only 30 and by the end of my first semester in nursing school my back feels like 80 if I keep at it.
