I originally wrote a very negative review. But recently I was able to find the correct display settings and now it works quite well. As a precaution, when I first connected it to my Macbook Pro, the standard definition picture was awful, all flat and blurry, unreadable. But I set it to 2048 x 1280, at 130Hz, and it works great. very clear, rich color. Not quite a Retina display, but quite satisfactory for my purposes. So the moral of the story is, if it looks bad, try playing around with the resolution AND the refresh rate.
