Overall, this camera is very easy to set up and use. I tested it indoors and outdoors. Panning is a HUGE bonus during live view, despite the lag. Highly recommended compared to other products like Foscam or NEST.Setup======The packaging is very well thought out from the start. It is reminiscent of the experience of opening an Apple product. It comes with a long USB cable (6ft+) as well as USB to Ethernet. Setting up the camera was very easy. 1) Connect the device to the mains. 2) Download the app to your tablet/phone. 3) Complete a quick setup by answering a few basic questions (including Wi-Fi). A QR code will appear during setup. Turn it to the camera and check your setup quickly and easily. All in all maybe 7 minutes from opening the box to full functionality, including downloading the app. backyard camera. We have many small wild animals throughout the year. There was no humidity and it can be 53F at night, the camera held up perfectly. IR provided a very clear image in the dark. The motion detector detected the well-known raccoons, rabbits and even moths. The image was not overexposed or of poor quality like some IR cameras. There were no problems panning the camera. Motion tracking works well when the subject is moving at normal human walking speed. It wasn't designed for photographing scurrying animals, let alone outdoor shots. Inside ====== For fun, the camera was discreetly hidden in the living room. Since I was hiding in another room, the microphone feature allowed me to talk to my younger toddlers. Obviously surprised, we continued "trying to find me", the audio was loud and clear. In low light conditions, the image remains incredibly clear. A camera was also installed to monitor our front door. It didn't always pick up motion detection when cars drove by, but when our postman or delivery driver showed up, a "Human Detection" alert popped up on the phone. APP ====== The app is intuitive. , making it easier to navigate across devices. The cloud function makes it easy to search at different times. The "Play from the Cloud" button did not always work properly. The video will "load" indefinitely. I thought it was a Wi-Fi issue, my phone was placed near a strong Wi-Fi source, but it still doesn't work. I had to exit and reopen the app before it worked. Can be isolated from my iPhone 8. Feature Requests ==============- Power over Ethernet = Installing multiple cameras throughout the home would help limit the number of outlets. Why mount the camera upside down on the ceiling when the power cord is hanging from it? - The cloud function works about 90% of the time to view old footage. Alert playback works fine. - The pan function can stutter sometimes, it will probably be cloudy and back. The panning speed (slow or fast) will help you set a more accurate viewing position.
