My Bose speakers have failed in less than 5 years. Very disappointed. For $249 I expect them to last at least 10 years or more. I couldn't bring myself to shell out another $250 for Bose speakers even though I liked their excellent quality. Based on the Revain's reviews, I decided to try the $99 Yamaha speakers. Got them today. First impression outstanding. Midtones can be better than Bose. The bass might not be as crisp as a Bose, but then again, when I was listening to hip-hop dance music, my Bose right speaker broke. I'm listening to the same song right now and the middle voices are clearer than I remembered from Bose. The downside is that the bass line can be a bit muted on the Yamaha. However, due to the lack of a subwoofer, the sound will be limited. That's why I bought Bose in the first place to get rid of the subwoofer. I also listened to a classical string orchestra and you can hear every note clearly. As I said, the mid-range could be better than Bose. I am very happy with this purchase. And the angled design is amazing - it was exactly what I wanted from Bose speakers when I had them. Goodbye boss. You've served me well, but I'll keep going. Jamaica!
