This is the most useful computer accessory I've bought in a long time. I've used eSATA docking stations for years, both for retrieving data from other computers' drives and for my own emergency preparedness. This is a big improvement over the dock concept. My system has a ZFS mirror with three drives; A drive is now in this dock instead of the external dock. In an emergency (e.g. earthquake) I can just pull out the disc and go. It's better than an external dusty dock and drive, plus it doesn't require an external power supply or cable. Both 2.5" and 3.5" slots have their own dedicated SATA connector and common power cable. Each of them supports SATA III and can (of course) be used simultaneously with USB ports. Each bay has its own blue LED that indicates a drive is inserted, and the LEDs flash purple when the drive is active. The blue LEDs are a bit bright, but small and well integrated. The USB 3.0 connector is for USB 3.0 motherboard connector only, as you can see from the photos and web page. I'm surprised people give bad reviews because it's clear before you make a purchase. I wanted this because my Intel dq77mk motherboard has a matching connector and of course I needed to connect something to it. (!) I've found at least three versions of this product, each with a different faceplate but the same internals. . It doesn't need any drivers - just plug it in. Even though I'm using Windows, this device doesn't need any drivers or special software. one piece. It depends on your aesthetic preferences and whether you want one, two, or none at all: Kingwin KF-253-BKThermaltake ST0026ZSyba SY-MRA55006
