This Chefmate 5 Speed Electric Blender is a real joke. It turns out that Chefmate himself is an absolute joke. I bought this for my wife almost a year ago and we have used it 3 times for lighter mixing purposes like baking cookies. Today she noticed that the mallets don't stay locked like they should and I wanted to try it. Luckily we kneaded our dough before it stopped but I made it stop. I'm a geek by nature and can usually figure out how to fix things. That's even beyond my competence. When kneading cookie dough, you should NOT smell like burning/melting plastic. This was after less than five minutes of use. I took it apart and nearly burned my hand on some of the viscera. Don't buy Chefmate. If you want to save some money, look for another brand that has at least one legit website. Customer service is almost non-existent if you can find it. Look for my review of their knife set for another negative review. There is only one star because "no stars" is not possible.
