Review on ASICS GT 2000 Mens Running White Men's Shoes by Zach Peterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Asics quality ended with the GT 2000-5

I've been wearing the Asics GT-2000 for over ten years now. Versions 2, 3, 4 and 5 were absolutely spectacular shoes. Normally I would buy last year's version to save money as there is little difference between the shoes. Up to version 6 which I would buy this year. Reviews noted that the quality of version 6 was much worse than any previous generation. So I went ahead and spent $120 on version 7 in January. It's only been 8 months since I've had version 7 and it's toast. All tread is gone and there are large flat spots on the bottom of the shoe. They look like my old version 5 after 18 months of the same beating after 8 months of normal walking and running. The older versions I would wear were worn regularly for 1.5 years before the treads wore out completely. If these shoes last less than half the life of the old ones, then these shoes aren't worth more than $50-60. Asics, you lost my trust. I'm afraid after a decade of loyalty, your get-rich-quick decision has cost you many clients, myself included. You have to look elsewhere for quality. You should be ashamed of yourself.
