Review on KONIG CB-12 070 Snow Chains: Enhance Traction And Safety With This Set of 2 Snow Chains by Daniel Jenkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than 4WD and cheaper

Summary: Incredible performance, easy to install and remove; Light rust spots after a few uses. Long: I have a '96 Honda Accord that I bought these chains for and I am blown away by their performance. You can ride in the snow until you get stuck, then put them on and you won't get stuck again. I rode up and down an icy gravel road through a foot of fresh snow like nothing had happened. You can turn off the road into the cleared snow, stop completely, and shoot back. If you just put them on the front wheels (like I did) you have to be aware that the rear of the car will rotate slightly in corners, but this isn't a problem when driving slowly. Practice putting on the chains when it's dry so I knew how to do it. I found the instructions to be rather skimpy, but they are so easy to put on that all you can do is look at the picture on the tote bag. The only thing you need to be sure about is making sure they are completely unraveled before attempting to put them on or you will go insane. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because after 2 uses and 80 miles I can see some rust spots. I wash them in warm water after every snowstorm and dry them with a towel. It might not add up to much, but I want them to last >5 years.
