I bought this on the recommendation of a "leather expert" for the leather treatment (to prevent/minimise curling) on a new Louis Vuitton Noir/Monogram bag. I've used it on the tongues, handles and shoulder strap, it has conditioned them well and hasn't curled yet. I then used it on a Vacette on a 15 year old LV backpack and it re-softened/conditioned it well so I was happy with the product. Based on that experience I used it on a "virgin vachetta" on a brand new LV bag, BIG MISTAKE! It not only darkened the vachetta, but also gave it a shiny/hard/almost plastic look. The slight tan didn't really bother me, but the shiny/hard/plastic/fake look is awful and I seriously regret using it. To its credit, I have to say that when I checked an inconspicuous spot to see it, it would at least have prevented water staining on the new Watchta, and it did. But the ending here is terrible. In desperation I let it dry for a few days and then sprayed it with the much-recommended Apple Garde to see if it helped at all, and luckily it did. It does stay darker, but at least softened it a bit, so it looks and feels much better. So overall I give it 3.5 stars. This is probably great for most leathers, even an old watch, but definitely not for a new/virgin watch.
