Clean looks but difficult to use

This Pthtechus 4G smartwatch works decently. We bought a $5 SIM card so my son could call us if needed. The SIM card is not included, but you can see it on the back of the watch. It may be well protected, but when you see it, you feel that it is easily damaged by hand washing. The camera is clear when we call and we can hear each other well. It displays battery life and Wi-Fi connectivity at the top of the watch screen. To see how many steps he has, he has to open the app on his watch each time. This information is not automatically displayed on the screen. There is no flashlight, which I think would be nice for a children's watch. The watch needs to be charged daily or every day and a half. The charger is a streamlined type. This is how it holds the watch and snaps into place. This is a very safe way to charge the watch, but the cable is very thin, which gives me the impression that it will break over time or not hold up with repeated use. An app can be downloaded to the phone to access the watch (using the QR code on the watch). I couldn't add any additional apps, music or games to this watch. We have access to the watch through the app; However, we were only able to add contacts and make video calls over Wi-Fi from time to time. We couldn't send messages. Every time we go to the app store on the watch it says "The software is not set up on the server". When we go to the App Store in the app on our phone, nothing happens. We checked various things and couldn't fix this issue. I love that you can use your phone to take photos of your child's surroundings. There are volume controls that you can use to increase or decrease the volume as needed. It does not come with any preinstalled games except the math game. It has a place to set up a schedule, but that needs to be configured through the parent app. There are a limited number of things a child can do, giving parents more control over the phone app; but sometimes it's a little frustrating. If you keep setting alarms, checking the time, and making calls, there will be less frustration until your child wants to do more with it. After a few weeks of wearing the watch, my son took it off and doesn't want to wear it anymore. I think it's because there isn't much to do and it's a bit bulky for him (he's 8). You can adjust the screen brightness as needed from the watch itself. The GPS is a few miles away but gives an approximate location. To wake up the clock, press the red button on the side. While navigating the menu, press the company name at the bottom of the watch face to return to the previous menu, or press the red button on the side to return home. The clock can be restarted or turned off via the application on the phone. I was disappointed with the price of this watch. In fact, I've found that a learning smartwatch is better for my kid, aside from the inability to control the volume. This is not an item I would buy again. Maybe it was just user error.
