I only have a few good spots to mount my phone holder in my car where it's accessible and doesn't interfere with the dash controls. I needed one that had some wiggle room so it could be placed a little lower and eliminate the change in height over where it was placed. Unfortunately, the required hinges are not strong enough to hold my phone upright. I have a heavier and bigger phone (iPhone 8+) but even a smaller phone falls over time. The magnet is quite nice. It would be better if the "stick" part was vertical. I needed it to protrude horizontally and be supported, which doesn't work for me.
