Feel free to buy, for such a price, the quality is simply amazing.

This is my first trackball device. So there is nothing to compare with. But summarizing personal experience, I can say that this particular implementation of the trackball is convenient. To the question of trackball vs mouse. For myself, I did not find significant advantages of the trackball over the mouse and vice versa. This also applies to the accuracy of cursor positioning, and the speed of work. You can equally well highlight the contours of objects in photoshop and play shooting games online with colleagues :) Almost everyone writes about the need to clean the trackball and wash the ball with soap. Some people wash their hands on the occasion of the start of work with the trackball :) My personal observations: - 3 ball bearings require wiping with a finger from plaque once every few hours. this is done very simply and takes no more than 10 seconds. - the ball was washed with soap only once and abandoned this idea. This is due to the fact that this procedure sharply increases the coefficient of friction of the ball against the supports and completely deprives the ball of the ability to rotate by inertia.

Pros
  • - the hand rests comfortably on the case, does not get tired - it is possible to use all fingers to rotate the ball (usually 3, less often 4) - it is convenient - no special surface is required for comfortable work (for example, laser mice do not work correctly on all surfaces, especially with contrasting textures) - the lack of scrolling is compensated by: a) using additional. buttons to transfer the ball to the scrolling mode) by the skill of throwing the cursor on the scroll bar and (holding the left button) move around the page by means of the ball rotation.
Cons
  • After 1.5 years of work, the "left button" began to fail. Dragging objects requires significant pressure. I plan to use one of the rarely used additional buttons (in the top row) as a donor for soldering.

Quite an adequate purchase, given the general state of the trackball market, where the choice is generally small.
